When she was just a teenager, His travelled with her mother to a local market in Choma. She saw a lack of good quality produce and decided to start her own business, selling vegetables in the market.

Initially, she was able to sell her produce with the help of a neighbor who loaned her $18. However, she soon realized that she needed more resources to run her business, so she found the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program and applied for funding from the U.S. Embassy in Zambia.
