cbd oil
CBD is a non-psychoactive, naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis (hemp) plant. It has been shown to have anti-anxiety, anti-seizure and neuroprotective properties in preclinical and clinical studies. CBD is a natural pain reliever and may be useful for treating conditions such as arthritis, chronic pain, anxiety and depression.
A six-week cbd oil placebo-controlled trial of 88 people already taking antipsychotic medication for schizophrenia found that CBD (600 mg/day) reduced positive psychotic symptoms (e.g. hallucinations or delusions) and cognitive performance compared with placebo, but not negative psychotic symptoms like blunt affect or disinterest in others.

In a study of patients with social anxiety disorder, CBD (600 mg/day) decreased self-reported anxiety in a simulated public speaking test compared with placebo, but not at other times during the day or in comparison with healthy controls.
Various clinical trials have shown that CBD can reduce the number of seizures in people with Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut syndromes, and in one study, people with ALS reported that a combination of THC and CBD significantly reduced their monthly motor seizure rates.
CBD is also being explored for its potential to treat rheumatoid arthritis, and a small open-label study found that the combination of THC and CBD (Sativex) was associated with improvements in quality of life, pain during movement and at rest and disease activity in people with RA. However, further clinical research is needed to confirm these results in controlled settings.
